A Little Batman Help Please?

Hey Bat-Fans,
I need a little help placing this Batman head. He's nearly ready for final paint and I'm not exactly sure which era he is from or how to costume him. He was purchased from eBay as a "1940's Batman" but he doesn't really look like the 1943 serial Batman or the Dick Sprang comic book version. Where does he fit in, if at all in the Batman timeline?

Hate to say it but maybe a 1990's Batman?
The angular sides of the cowl near his cheekbones, and the arch in the eyebrows of the mask...
I'd be tempted to make this Batman out of him.....

He looks way too modern to be any Batman from 1940 to 1980. Might work as a Miller style 'Dark Knight' or a 'Year One' style. This head says to me; black and grey costume, big pouch belt, and black bat on chest.
If it was my head to customize, I would go with an Afro-Amercain Batman. Like "Muhammed Ali, Jim Brown, Shaft, an' Superfly, all rolled into one".*

I can kinda see that and never really hated the idea of Kilmer as Batman. Batman Forever is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Totally agree with you and I am leaning towards a "Year One" Batman

I'm not familiar with "The Batman Nobody Knows" story line, something to look into.

Story goes something like this, Bruce Wayne takes three 'at risk boys' on a camp out. Around a campfire, each kid tells what he believes is the Batman. Of course, they are all different. One kid describes him as Man-bat type creature that wears a Batman costume. Another kid describes a Spectre- like superpowered Batman. And a black kid describes a black man with all the gadgets, jet pak, glider wings, and funky style kung-fu fighting. Bruce decides to treat the kids to a midnight appearence of Batman by slippy away. When he appears to the boys in costume, they laugh and tell Mr. Wayne he looks silly. This is a 70s story, and most likely meant to be racially simpathetic.
Good or Bad, that's how I remember it. Although I would not want to go with the exact design from this story, I really like the idea of an Afro American Batman.

That sounds interesting, I have to see if it's been reprinted in a collected edition. I think the latest Showcase only goes up to Batman #244 so I might have to hit the long boxes.

I think I settled on the perfect fit for this Batman head. It takes a little bit from everyone's suggestions and fits right into my Golden age custom Mego playground.

I thank you all for the inspiration, I never would have came up with this solution on my on. That's why this forum and the people on it are awesome!
Now as you can see by the photos, I still have some pesky air holes to fill before I can start painting
