When Bad Things Happen to Mego Customs

I have been at war with the Mice at home for awhile now. Their numbers are slowly decreasing (due to brutal poisoning on my part). But I am not without my share of casualties. This was going to be used for a future Custom Mego Hawkgirl. Now it looks like Hawkman has taken a bullet to the head.

I'll ship you my smaller python for a week. I've seen him eat 6 mice in one sitting and keep looking around for more.

Hell, you could sell that on ebay to go along with that crappy no hat penguin a few weeks back.

              Hiya Grayhank,

I feel for you. That is the stuff of collector nightmares. I live in a century old house in a rural setting and am constantly battling little furry fiends.

The other night I was doing some cleanup and organizing in my workspace and I kept hearing a 'crunch crunch' sound. After some intense listening and staying completely still, I located the box emitting said noise. It was so loud when I got close to it, I feared the worst. It also happened to be coming from an area where I have some of my personal Star Wars collection and ephemera from my youth. So, I bravely went in thinking I would find some mice, or rodent evidence and there was the biggest dam cockroach trapped between flaps on one of my storage boxes. The crunching I had heard was actually its legs scratching the cardboard as it did sort of a perpetual breaststroke between boxes. Nasty.

That is one of the main reasons I collect loose and not boxed items. Too much risk. Well, that and the fact that I like to fiddle about with the toys.

Good luck getting rid of the mice and don't step on your own glue traps

Sorry to see such damage. A rat ate through one of my favorite boots. I have never ever been able to find/replace the exact boots ever. I am still on the lookout for a pair of like boots, and it's been...7 years. I want to cry whenever I think about it...

johnmiic went through a mouse episode a few weeks back, so I spoke to some friends and they both said to use Oil of Peppermint. It has to be natural, so I guess they make a "synthetic" also. They both said it was the best way to go, especially if you have pets as it's not dangerous, but the mice hate the scent of it, and it leaves your house smelling minty fresh. John said he found some at a health food store, as it's used for something naturally for the body too. He said the natural stuff was pricey but no where near what an exterminator costs. Don't know if he went with it or what, but you might want to ask him.

No I've gone beyond the Peppermint Oil at this point, I've tried it. And I know mice love eating Peppermint Candy Canes . So straight to the Agricultural Department for the good stuff. That's life here on the farm though.

When we first moved in here ther mice were every where in the walls.I hunted and found they were climbing up the carpeted stairway in the basement to the main floor.I removed the carpet from stairway.got two cats and have been mouse free for 4-5 years now.Cats..The natural exterminator,They remind me of a furry little terminator.Nothing gets in their way when they are hunting...LOL

I caught a mouse a week ago, no poison cause I have pets, but the snappers work great for me. Popped his little head clean off.

I hate the glue traps, they don't die, just get hopelessly stuck then you gotta wack 'em out with something. I don't have any toys stored in boxes, and we just got a new cat so hopefully we will be mouse free shortly. Mostly they are in the barn.
