I wanted to order a pair of the winged ones for my Retro Batman, but was curious about what they actually looked like on a figure, and what your feedback was on them. Anyone got any pics or advice? Thanks a million.

Glad this was posted, I'm curious about them myself. I've always wondered if there was enough clearance for regular bodysuits to tuck down into the boots and gloves without bunching up."Trying is the first step towards failure." - H. J. Simpson, 1997 -
if the suits are unhemmed like Batman 66 then no problem. Dissapointed that FTC has taken the Teen Titans way out on some of the newer figures using those gloves like Super friends Aquaman. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. ^Yeah, to me that's very off-putting. I never liked it on Iron Man or Invisible Girl, either.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

I like the gloves. I've only experimented with them so far but have had great results. To prevent the fabric from bunching, I cut the hemmed arms of the suits and melted the fabric ever so slightly with a lighter to prevent runs & pulls. I think this is how FTC is doing it in production. I made my own pins out of styrene rods to get both gloves and boots to work with Zica bodies.Comment

I used them on these... They look good but like with the Batman 66 figures they may have trouble standing. If your using type s bodies lasermego makes an attachment, I myself used tacky dots to tru to help keep them on... The Animated Batman I cut the feet off the body suit the others I did the tuck for more stability.

I use near boiling water. Which is to say once the wrist pins & gloves are installed (whatever your preferred method) I boil water in a kettle & pour it into a coffee cup.
I then bend the figure over the coffee cup so just his forearms are in the water. After about 3 minutes I pull the figure out of the water and VERY CAREFULLY push the sleeve into the glove with a very small blade screwdriver. The gloves will cool off so you may have to reboil the water a few times per figure.
I could post photos but they wouldn't look much different than what Bronxboykev posted above.
I just did this last night night as my Super Friends Zan came with his hands loose. While I was at it I also used the same method to install Doc Mego teen gloves on my custom Bucky.
Hope this helps.

I've always thought the FTC bat gloves and boots looked AMAZING. They are beautifully sculpted. Far superior to vintage MEGO's generic, rigid, pointed-top hero boots, vinyl oven mitts, and closed-finger shell gloves worn by Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Girl, and some of the Teen Titans.
My main gripe is the DESIGN of the FTC gloves and boots... not their look.
I will never for the life of me understand why these were not created as wearable / removable GARMENTS (instead of as limb replacements).
CASTAWAY Toys demonstrated years ago that excellent-looking (and removeable) rubbery gloves and boots were possible for these figures. Even though wearable / removeable gloves for "trigger" type hand positions is not feasible (as FTC opted to do with their Bat-heroes left hands), removeable garments for fist hands should nevertheless not have been a problem.
And there is really NO excuse for doing footwear as a limb replacement... especially when the standing integrity of the figure ends up being badly compromised (as it is with FTC figures). Furthermore, this design decision did not even gain any significant additional ankle articulation for FTC figures over their vintage MEGO cousins who wore rigid boots that eliminated their ankle articulation as well.I... am an action figure customizerComment

They do have the removable gloves for sale also on the CTVT site, both open and closed fists. These are the ones I have used before and they look just as good as the gloves you are talking about, I even think the slightly larger size needed to slip over the hands looks better, as the 66 Batman gloves look a little small to me. I am glad to see both options available, for customs or quick replacements there should be plenty of choices to work with.Comment

Just now reading this thread... I really like these gloves and boots, not only for how cool they look, but also now I can use a box of LJN type 1 bodies that do not have hands or feet. These guys fit like a champ!Don't be sorry. How would you know? You've been watching MTV all your life.Comment
