Just wondering, has anyone done this before? Adding articulated joints to figures that don't have them?
I have a Rat Skeleton. It's fantastic, but it was meant to be a static Halloween piece, so the only parts that move are the neck and jaws. The legs are fixed in place.
I'd like to add movable joints, but I'm not sure about what parts to get and where. What do you think? Cannibalize LEGO pieces for the ball and sockets? Revoltech? Glyos? Buy other figures and chop them up for their joints?
I realize that the joints need a peg and a socket. Simply drilling a hole at the end of a bone won't hold the peg... I'd need to adapt it for the proper socket, maybe by drilling a larger hole, or using Instamorph to connect the end of the original bone with the socket piece.
Any advice would be appreciated.
