    False Face Mask

Here's a brain teaser for you on Friday...
If you were to make a False Face custom, how would you tackle the clear face mask?

I agree. Not easy for a hobbyist to do, but vacuformed like in the show would be the best.

I would love to see a False Face custom done, wish he had made a second appearance on the show,
probably the best one and done arch criminal from the series. I wonder if FTC will ever produce him?

Many years ago, a local hobby shop carried clear styrene. You could drape it/melt it with a heat gun. Tap Plastics may sell it as well. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to cut an approximate shape, lay it over either a cast of the head its going to be used on (or a spare head) and give it a quick melt. I know I'm probably oversimplifying it but I would approach it like that first. If it doesn't work, not much lost. I got the impression it didn't take much to make it pliable. After that you could just trim it to fit, no? I didn't try it but the guys at D&J Hobby knew their stuff back in the day.

^You make a good point. I've seen sheet styrene at my hobbyshop. and have used a heat gun at work. I'm guessing if you placed a sheet over, say, a plaster cast of a Reed Richards Mego head, you could probably get a good mask and trim it to the proper shape.

Did some research on vacuform and I'm not quite up for the task. A man's gotta know his limitations.

Anyone here interested in commissioning their talents, shoot me a pm. Thanks

What base head would you use? Vacuum-forming need a "plug" to use.

The base head that I'd like to use is Al Bundy mego. I think the face mask over that head would work, but vacuform is out of league.
