Having read the recent thread regarding the chrome plating article the wheels began turning in my head.
Does anyone know where one can get the gold plated version of vacuum metallizing? I have some pieces that I would like done in a gold color kind of like trophy's. The paint that I have found in the retail stores just does not seem to give the pieces the true color that I desire. The cap on the paint is of desired color. However, the paint never seems to look like the paint color on the cap once the item has been painted. Some one once told me that there is something called a trophy dip for this process. Although when I ask for it I have yet to find anything on it in the craft stores or anyone local that actually does this process. Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
