    ^I'll go with megoknight here.
Thanks daz71 for explaining what type head to what type body. I can't tell you how hard it is for me not to post the answer; 'Magnets' when others ask this question without explaining what types they are working with.

I usually microwave the water for 4 minutes, then put the neck plug in the water for a minute. Usually the head goes back on with not much fuss.

Hey, all. Resurrecting this thread for a newbie question:

Any tips on putting a resin head on a vintage or repro body? I assume I'll need to crack the chest, right? Anything I need to know before I do? I'd hate to ruin a perfectly good body...

            Thanks in advance!

If you are using a resin head with a neck plug, do yourself a favour and just use one of Doc Mego's bodies with the screws in the back. Unscrew, pop in the resin head w/ neck plug and you are pretty much done once you screw the body back together.

For me, it beats whittling down a neckplug with a dremel or exacto knife until you get it to fit. (and even then I would often accidentally crack the body because it didn't quite fit properly)

I've used hair dryer to soften the body just enough to squeeze the neck stem in.

Ah! I hadn't realized that worked on the bodies as well. Thanks!

I use boiled water on the torso.
