Question about riging a plug on a resin head for a neck

I have a question for all you expert customizers. I am about to construct my first custom. I have this 12 inch GOTG Starlord toy figure. Its made of hard resin. Very little articulation. It just came out and I bought it at Toys R us last weekend. I want to take the head off and put it on a late 90's 12 inch G.I. Joe resin body that has more articulation in its arms and legs and body. NOW, the answer I'm looking for is - Can I rig some sort of plug on the head using some kind of sculpting compound for its neck? Will this work? Will the head still move side to side afterwards?

ALSO, I should note, The G.I. Joe body has a ball nob still attached to it from where the neck and head used to be.

Any expert advice from anyone who's ever done something like this before would be greatly appreciated.

Some pictures would help answer the question. As far as making a neck plug, you will have to have an air drying clay such as Alumite for sculpting. Depending on the shape of the neck minus the ball it's possible to dremel a hole for the new neck plug. Or I guess it's also possible to dremel the head as it is to accept the ball that's on the body. There are many options. Let us know how it turns out!

You could definitely Dremel out the body and add a neck plug.
