Bratz...are the close to Mego Scale?

I see Bratz stuff all the time and have always wondered if they are close to Mego Scale. There are some guitars that look to be near the same scale. Anyone know if the both clothing and accessories are close to Mego scale? Thanks.

Bratz are taller than Mego but kinda short and squat in proportion in comparison to Barbie. So clothes fitting the 8 inch female Mego body is a bit of a crap shoot. Some will and some won't. Accessories like the guitars should be fine.

I agree it's crap shoot with Bratz stuff. Some of the female jackets,shirts fit perfectly for some Mego customs I did. The female pants like the blue jeans are too long in the legs and too short in the pelvis area, some other styles might work.

I also used some male Bratz pants for a custom, they fit good but the pants legs had to be shortened.


They also make several different sizes of Bratz figures. I found that out the hard way when I bought a Bratz lot for some customs clothes and ended up with a box of Mini Bratz.

So you need to make sure of the size before buying if it's not stated in the auction.

Some folks used a lot of Bratz clothes in the Lost Mego project. Jackets and jeans especially.

Some of the vehicles are more in scale with Megos than Mego's were!

I don't have a lot of experience with them, I bought a couple lots of Bratz clothes off Ebay a few years ago. The one ended up being the Mini-Bratz and I am thinking now the other one was a mixed lot for different sized Bratz figures because some was perfect and some had longer sleeves and pants legs. Some sunglasses I got in that lot were perfect Mego scale too.

It's good to know there is more out there if you get the clothes/accessories off the right sized Bratz figures.

Thanks for all the comments. Just bought a bratz figure on ebay. It will hopefully serve for multiple customs I am thinking about.

In my experience, the Bratz clothes can be easily modified. They don't always coordinate well with other pieces, but this can be easily fixed with a sewing machine and some basic sewing tools. For example, the flare-leg jeans resemble bell-bottoms, which is fine for a character from the late 1960s or early to mid 1970s. The materials used on the Bratz clothes are a good quality and I suspect they had to have solid construction because small children were constantly playing with those dolls.

Bratz changed size and shape in 2013. Earlier Bratz clothes seem to fit reasonably well but the newer ones do not as the dolls were changed to be a bit more in scale with Barbies.

My Mantooth P.I. is wearing a Bratz top.

Here's a pic I posted quite a while back comparing the height of a standard Bratz to other fashion dolls.



As you can see they have kinda weird proportions. Another odd thing is some Bratz didn't have actual feet. The shoes are solid and snap onto pegs at the ankles. I believe most of the newer Bratz all have regular feet.
