    Plastic "Fusion" paints plus topcoats?

I need something vac-metalized, but in red. It's somooewhat flexible plastic, but not vinyl.

So, red metalizing does not seem to be available, & I was thinking of using red Krylon Fusion plastic paint.

Is it possible to use that as a primer, & add a red metallic coat over it? I'm worried it will not bond, or the surface might craze.

    Thanks!

Hmmm, sounds like team Monster might have something that would work for you…

If you're unfamiliar they are one of the great suppliers of paint app products for art toys.

That's helpful, thank you--their "cherry fizz" color might work well.

Hey bro! Don't try one paint over another as the one on top would have the tendency to not adhere. Have tried Dupli-color vinyl paint over Fusion Krylon for Plastics and even when you think it had dried you'll get fingerprints if you touch it... Just an experience I wanted to share...

I spray painted a Power Team motorcycle helmet about five years ago with blue Krylon Fusion, and it still hasn't dried completely. I'm not joking in the slightest. It's honestly still tacky. I really don't know how to fix it--maybe bake it at a low temp for a short amount of time, and then douse it in cold water? Whatever the case, I'm a bit gun-shy about using Fusion now.

I've had varying degrees with Fusion. Didnt adhere to interior car plastic or any of my molded urethane plastic pieces, or to a pair of soft plastic boots from Doc MEGO. It wouldnt completely cure on my car vinyl (but there is vinyl paint specially made for that). Definitely do a spot check first to see if it cures properly.
