New caster question

I'm following the molding and casting tutorials on James Brady's website. One question I have concerns the original item (mego head). If I use an original mego head to make a mold, with the mold-making process damage the head? Specifically, I wonder if the original paint will be damaged by the release agent or the curing silicone.

Any help or advice will appreciated.

Using James' site was how I learned too and no, I've never damaged an original head.
Use your sealant and mold release and you'll be fine.
