Hello, Everyone.
Here is my latest creation...one I've wanted to do for quite awhile.
I never watched The Rockford Files as a kid, but I saw a few stray episodes a few years ago on TV Land and I really liked the show. I got all the DVD sets (I'll post my review of Season 5 in the General Buzz in a moment) and I've really enjoyed them.
James Garner had many blazer/shirt/slacks looks in the show. My favorite was the black and white plaid jacket, blue shirt, and dark pants, so that's the outfit I reproduced on this figure.
For anyone not familiar with Garner's look in The Rockford Files, here are a few photos of him, along with his famous cookie jar which doubled as a hiding place for his unregistered gun.

I wanted to make the backer card simple, like Jim himself, so I used DVD caps to include iconic photos from the series: Jim's trailer, Firebird, and (on the back of the card) his trailer interior and Jim on a stakeout. I also used a "very 70s" main color, sort of a very light gold.

Jim is on an original Type II Mego body. Thanks to Rosa (aka Mom) for helping me out on Jim's blazer when I got into a bit of sewing trouble on the shoulder.

I sculpted the head and cast it in resin myself. It's only my second head; my first was David Letterman. I think my sculpting is improving, mainly due to the fact that I got a proper set of sculpting tools. When I did the Letterman sculpt, all I had was a toothpick. LOL!!! Jim's face isn't photographing a "true" color. He's not that pale/pasty in "real life". Also, the neck plug isn't visible normally, but it's showing up in the photos for some reason. I don't think the lip color is showing either. Hmmm...
Here's a montage of Jim's head:

I plan to also do a younger Garner head soon and make a Bret Maverick figure. I'll post that when I finish it.
Jim comes with some disguises! If you're familiar with the show, you know that Jim often impersonates people to obtain information.
Here's Jim as Jim Taggart:

Here's Jim as Jimmy Joe Meeker:

Here's Jim with his cookie jar/gun hiding place and unlicensed gun:

Lastly, here is Jim Rockford, carded:

Thanks for looking!
