Removing Permanent Marker from Mego head

I was wondering if anyone out there has some tips or ideas on how to remove permanent marker from a mego head. I have a figure that someone drew a mask on with marker. Can it be removed without ruining the face. Nail polish would work but it seems to strong and may discolor the face.

^ RemoveZit has worked wonders on vintage GiJoe heads I've used it on.

I got a GiJoe 1965 black action soldier that someone had drawn a magic marker beard and mustache on. I did 2-3 sessions of RemoveZit on it and you can't tell it had any marker on it at all.

I usually apply the RemoveZit and then place it under a light in a hutch and leave it there overnight with the light on. That keeps the temperature kind of high on it, and then the next day I've clean it off, and put more RemoveZit on and repeat the process until it was all gone.
