I can't get David Lees hero boots on my figure

I bought David Lees Black Hero Boots and I'm having a heck of a battle putting them on.I tried the boiling method,the baby powder method and the hair dryer method and nothing's working.Matter of fact when I tried to boil the boots the black paint started to come off so now I have to buy another pair but I still have one more pair to try to get on.I have Rhuematoid Arthritis in my hands and my hands are hurting from trying to get them on the figure.This figure is for John Williams,the 9 year old boy that I mentioned in another thread.If anybody can help me with this one(untill I get another pair from David Lee)it would be greatly appreciated.I can send you the boots and the figure if need be.Thanks to anyone who can help because I'm almost done with his figure.

I had the same problem with a pair of red hero boots. I had to cut a slit with a razor blade in the back of the boot to get them on. They never did fit right so i just replaced them with vintage boots. Boots would be more suited for a female mego figure in my opinion.

I heated them with a hair dryer.

I sold the ones from my Phantom and bought some of the early ones that were styled after the Chips boots. I had to have hernia surgery after trying to get the first ones on.
