How many Megos did you own in the 70's ?

I was born on Oct 4 1967, when the WGSH MEGOS came out I was the perfect age for these new toys. I still have from my childhood, Superman, Batman, Robin, Aquaman, Captain America, Green Arrow, Green Goblin, Joker, Penguin, Falcon, Spiderman, Iron Man, Hulk, Lizard and Mr Mxyzptlk. These original 15 Megos have been restored and recarded. Over the past 2 years I have been able to find almost all of the Megos I never had as a kid. I now only need Isis and Batgirl to have all of the original WGSH. I was just curious as to how many Megos other members in here had as kids.

As a kid, I never had Wonder Woman, Isis, Invisible Girl or Supergirl. And I never had the Knights, Pirates, Titans, Robin Hood, star trek aliens other than Cheron, little Rascals or Wizard of Oz figures. I had the rest, but I was tough on them and none survived. The parts and pieces probably went in a garage sale when I was in junior high or were just thrown out.

      I had:
Batman(fell apart and don't have him anymore)
Robin(survived but missing most of his stuff)
      Shazam(gone)
Iron Man(loved him and was able to keep everything except his belt and in minty condition, replaced his belt many years ago and found a box for him)
Superman(kept him, decent shape but missing his cape)
Star Trek Kirk(fell apart and left this world)
Star Trek Spock(lost accessories but decent condition)
Star Trek Bones(lost accessories but decent condition)
Star Trek Enterprise, played hours and hours with it and that took its toll(fell apart and its 5 year mission ended much sooner).

Also I forgot I had a 12" Buck Rogers too.

I'll do my best to remember. Cochise, Fonzie, Superman, Batman, Robin, Captain America, Spider-Man, Shazam, Tarzan, Aquaman, Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Cornelius, Zira, Dr. Zaius, PotA Astronaut, Gorilla Soldier, 12" movie Superman, 12" Spider-Man, 12" Buck Rogers, 3 3/4" Buck Rogers, and 12" Joe Namath (my first Mego). I had the Enterprise playset. I think that's it.

            Soldier ape

            Black Knight

            Wizard of Oz:
            Cowardly Lion
            tin Man

            Action Jackson:
            Black AJ
            Bearded AJ

Also had three of the Mego Like SWAT figures, but only remember one name; Luca.

Alas, none of these survived. some say I didn't care about my toys, but I say that being played with to death is a sign of how MUCH I loved them.

Was also never quite smart enough to tell people I wanted "Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Joker," etc. I jsut said I wanted "figures" So, christmas came one year and among my other toys I got a bearded AJ, an AJ outfit. POTA Cornelius and Batman. while i wish I had gotten Batman and company, I still played with them together. LOL.

              Hmmmm....

I had a few AJs, most of the Treks and most of the apes. With a smattering of superheroes. The apes were my favourites as a kid.

You can check the gallery under playsets and vehicles to confirm this, but I THINK that was called "The Supervator". I don't know if it was specifically a Spiderman accessory, but Spidey WAS in the commercuials for it.

                            Let's see:

                            Superman
                            Batman
                            Robin
                            Shazam
                            Hulk
                            Spiderman
                            Lizard
                            Mr. Fantastic
                            Kirk
                            Spock
                            Tin Man
                            Scarecrow
                            Cowardly Lion
                            Bo Duke
                            Luke Duke
                            Gene Simmons
                            Fonzie

I think that's it, aside from pocket heroes, 3 3/4 figures, and Eagle Force.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

Born in 1970, I had around fifty megos, most of the super-heroes and titans, all of the apes, an AJ, most of the Trek and some Chips, Dukes and 12" too. All of them still in my collection, the wear and tear of long ago battles just adds to the charm, as well as knowing they have been with me over all these years.
