Shrinking FC Wolverine boots?

I remember a discussion about this over a year ago, but can seem to find it when searching. What is the success rate of using acetone for shrinking Famous Cover Wolverine boots? I'm sure they become super fragile while shrinking, but do they ever firm up? Any help would be appreciated.
