Arm keeps popping to the side on Mego T2?

Hello everyone, I just received a Aquaman T2 off Ebay and the right arm keeps popping out to the side. Left arm can be manipulated down to the side of the figure and posed as normal but the right arm pops out to the side like a wing. If I manipulate the right arm just right will stay put but if I move it slightly will pop out to the side again.

Does anyone know what this is caused from and how to fix it. Thank you in advance. New at all this but really enjoying it. Brings back memories for sure.

    Thanks,
    Robert H.

Try looking at the metal hook inside. It may be bent more open. Pinching it closed with needle nosed pliers may help.

I knew Aquaman had web hands, but I never saw the pooping-arm version.

      Is that a Ledy variation?

Actually it is, guy on Ebay said it was a very rare version but kind of has an odor. First $200 takes it!

          Robertbucs,
I've had a similar problem with CTVT torsos. Sometimes one shoulder hole is larger than the other. Causing the shoulder of the arm to be pulled into the torso.

That is probably what we call "arm splay" and it is common with T2 bodies.

The T1 Megos had a bad case of "leg splay" where their legs were always wide apart. Mego fixed that with the T2 body but a side-effect from that fix was the T2 arms would often stick out from the body never allowing you to lower them down by their sides.

I guess no good deed ever goes unpunished.

Thank you for explaining. Makes sense.

Ok, so it seems to be a trait in the way they were manufactured.

Thanks for the info. New at this trying to get my sea legs.

If its just one arm doing it, the torso may have a crack at the arm hole along the seem that runs from the shoulder to the neck.
That allows the hole to spread open and the arm to suck into the body further, making it stick strait out.

                    Hmmmm....

There are two separate probelms mentioned here. One is when the shoulder sticks out of the hole, and the metal hook catches on the edge of the hole. I've had more than a few original bodies do that. It's weird, I don't know why it happens, but the idea of bending the hook a bit more seems like a good one.

The other problem is when the shoulder gets sucked into the torso. It'll happen if there's a crack, nd it seems that sometimes the torso piece simply stretches over time, sucking the arm in. It's a tricky fix. I've seen people wrap masking tape around the hole. I've recast a few torsos and drilled out smaller holes a few times; but that's a fair amount fo work unless you're already making a lot of customs. CTVT bodies get this problem too; but since the torso's a little smaller than a Mego one you can slap on a Mego shoulder to fix it. (Or cast a new one.)
