    Star Wars Scale Issues!!!

Hey... I'm thinking of customizing more Star Wars Mego types. But I'm thinking of going more scale accurate. I mean if I go 8" for Luke Han Leia Boba Fett Lando and the other regulars. What size figure should I use for Darth and Chewie?
Now I checked online and Wookipedia states Vader is 6' 8". Which is kinda hard to believe. I mean I've met David Prowse at a convention and the man towers over my 6'1" frame. Add the Darth Vader headgear and I'd think he'd be over 7 foot tall. Also I've read long ago that Chewbacca is supposed to be taller than Vader.
So to sum up. Would a 9" action Figure for Vader and a 10" one for Chewbacca look right with the regular cast done in Mego scale??? Or should I just use 9" action figures for both Vader and Chewie?

PS. While I got you all here... Anyone know the height of R2-D2. I got one thats about 5.25" in tripod mode and it looks pretty good next to a Mego Figure.

I would say regular mego body for Han, Luke, Leia, etc. and a ZICA body for Darth Vader. As for Chewie, maybe DocMego's improved Hulk bodies.

I don't know what bodies to use. But i do agree with trying to make them look size accurate.
I would go by how they looked in the movies, see if you can get a good image of them standing by shorter characters
and then figure out the correct size to match that.

maybe a 9 inch Hasbro or Mego body for Vader. Chewie would probably be a bit taller, you could probably shorten the legs a bit on a 12 inch figure, jut not sure whats out there in the 10 inch range.

          Using heights from Wookiepedia...

          Chewie 2.2 meters = 86.6 inches = 9.6 inches in 1:9 scale
          Darth 2.02 meters = 79.5 inches = 8.8 inches in 1:9 scale

If it were me, I would probably use a 9" body for both Chewbacca and Vader... but you could make the difference more pronounced by using a Big Jim body for Chewbacca.

Of course, by that logic, Luke should be a little shorter than the standard 8" figure too. ("Aren't you a little short for a storm trooper?")

Lotsa good input guys. Much thanks. I'm thinking of using a Spiderman Origins Black Spiderman body for Darth (As soon as I get the courage to Disassemble him.) I think I have a "Little Penny" figure lying about that would give that long lanky look of Chewie. Plus I can just mount the Pez Chewie Head to it quick like.
In-case anyone's got a project that requires a 10 body. TRU had a line of GI Joe type figures a few years ago. Since they were like a stocky version of GI Joe at 10 inches and no follow up in regards to outfits or accessories. The line died off fast. I've been finding the figures in the thrift stores. I'm up to 4-5 of these bodies.

The Steve scout body is nice and lanky for a chewbacca custom. The hasbro 9" sounds like a good choice for Vader.

The KISS boots from CTVT might work.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.
