Retro Action Head Plug?

Can anyone tell me or has anyone posted pix of a loose retro action head? Is the neck plug on retro action head the same as a Mego head plug? Basically is a retro action head just "pop and play" once put on new body? Any help is appreciated.

The RA heads have a little piece of plastic in them that makes it hard to just pop and play. I know some folks on here have said the boil and pop method does work to remove them, but since I was putting mine on Doc Mego bodies I just tore up the RA body and took the head out that way. Then I removed the extra piece of plastic and it goes on the Doc or CTVT bodies very easily.

They have to be hard to remove so kids don't pull them off and choke on them. You can get them off with the boil method but it definitely is not easy.

The trick is basically to boil em enough to make em soft, but not so soft that they tear.
And don 't try to do it too fast - pull and pry for a bit.
