Need advice on making a Palitoy Dr. Who's K1 Giant Robot shoulder pads or....

Thanks to an AWESOME member here (megotastic), I finally have a Denys Fisher/Palitoy Dr. Who's Giant Robot figure, only missing the shoulder pads. There's some Dr. Who figures around that include parts to make a Giant Robot too, but smaller scale. This one figure has the shoulder pads I need, but they are smaller in size. (waiting for this certain piece in the mail).

Now comes the question to you Mego custom experts....Is there a way for me (or someone here in the group that can do it) to make these shoulder pads bigger? Like the Mego shrinking head process but vice-versa? Does anyone here know what to do or advice on who to turn too for this matter? Or has anyone ever made these repro parts for it that will fit the Palitoy robot for sale? If so, or any link,..Please let me know and thanks for ANY help or advice, as i'd love to have this robot as complete as possible. Thanks.
    Ray

I Think that is just too unique an item with too little interest to make. So you'll have to fashion something yourself.

Ray - you may want to contact Tothiro to see if he ever did a cast of these. I know he was interested in doing that at one point in time, but am not certain if it ever came about.

It seems to me a little model kit experience would be helpful. You'll need to scratch build those parts. The shoulder pads look a little round to me. So you need to find an item in that scale with the little bit of curvature to simulate those parts.

What you should look for are those round, plastic containers you get the prizes in at machines in supermarkets. You'll need a whole bunch. Or you could use small plastic Easter Egg containers or little plastic football helmets. Also if you check Evergreen or Plasti-struct online they may have 1/2 domes you could buy in the right scale. You might be able to get something similar if you cut up some sheet styrene in the right shape and just curl it and layer it.

What you want to do here is cut up a whole bunch of these domes, (or whatever), and stack stem to get the layered effect that the Robot's shoulder pads have. If you use a plastic that takes model kit glue you could make 1 shoulder pad; glued together. Maybe have someone cast it and produce 2 parts for you. You would also have to remember to leave room at the tips for that roundel on each side.

That is in interesting take on a scratch build. I would say the vending ball would be a bit big for this idea, but a small size Easter egg might be close for the curve. Somewhere around a one inch diameter medicine bottle might do the trick as well.

I was thinking soda bottle, cut into strips with round dots at the end, Stacked and fastened together, fan it out into the paldron shape.

forget it- denys fishers robot whilst impressive is too inacurate compared to the character options one- your better find an original and vac forming them
