OK, took my 1st step into mego kit-bashing. (doing something that I'm sure most here have already done)
Having picked up a retro-action Green Lantern recently and discovering that everything I read about the floppy Mattel bodies was true, I decided to take a stab at "fixing" it and making the Mego GL of my dreams.
Using boil-and-pop, I was able to cleanly get the head and hands off the GL.
I then put the head on a T2 body I had. So far , so good.
Run into a couple of quick things which I've mentioned in another thread.
1. I now see that the RA hand pins are much smaller in diameter than mego wrists.
Thanks to EMCE Hammer for some suggestions on things to try. Don't have the materials lying around , so haven't tried his suggestions yet. (pipe tape, puttty) Happy if anyone has other success stories with RA hands to share.
In the meantime, I had some mego white hands lying around from a broken Penguin, so I put those on for now. Hal looks pretty good, (though no ring :( ... maybe I could just make a ring for him somehow?)
2. His head went on fine and looks good. However, there is the tiniest bit of wobble. the RA head has a little ridge right below the "neck" (but not the big plug at the end). Do people shave the ridge down? or is there some other way to make this fit a little more snugly? It doesn't shake or anything - I'm probably just beign picky.
Anyway here's some pics of my 1st kit-bash. Finally, The Mego JLA of my dreams is in my reach, 35 years later!
Any advice welcome!
-> Here's a shot of just the white hands on him (maybe just adding a ring wold be easiest thing to do?)

-> Here you can see how the head sticks out jsut a little too much (due to the little ridge?)

-> Hal in all his glory (well, except no ring !)
