Does anyone have a decent scan of the KISS Mego box that they'd be willing to share? I'd like to shrink the guitars for my 8" KISS CTVT figures. I'd be happy to share the downsized version once I complete them. Thanks!

Just saw that Figures Toy Company is shipping out series 2 of the KISS retro figures. Anybody have a scan of the back of the Mego KISS box they could share with me? I'd like to shrink the guitars and drum for my 8 inch figures. Not sure why these aren't included in the new packaging (perhaps trademark issues with the guitar companies?)

If anyone has better scans, I'd be interest in making acrylic guitars with vinyl stickers. (I had some at Mego Meet, but better quality images would help.)

I can use the my repro box printing file to make up something that can print in the 8" scale.

omh thanx for sharing these images...I have both 8 and 12 inch versions on the dolls! I was wondering about making the guitars from scrach myself...maybe balsa wood? also wondering how i can get 8 inch versions of reproduction boxes from the original Mego versions......how much would that cost????? anyone??

Hmmm, in my opinion, balsa wood is too fragile. I'd say go with basswood at least for the body. The neck should be done with hardwood, especially if you intended to drill holes in the headstock for tuning pegs.

You could use plastic sheets or wood. I prefer wood, because it's easier to carve, and can be stained and varnished like a "real" guitar.

Guitars as small as 1:15 scale can actually be strung. For 1:9, it should be easier. And, since the strings do put a little tension on the neck, all the better reason to use hardwood.
