    Flatt Heads

    Hey folks,

Years and years ago, Dr. Mego used to offer a fairly extensive selection of Flatt-sculpted heads. I know he's got a few still up on his site, but I remember there was at least a Flash, a Green Lantern, and a Doc Ock to go with the rest (I think there may have a Phantom as well).

I have a couple of questions. Does anyone have a list of all the Flatt heads that he used to carry? Does anyone else still offer those heads? I know Doc Mego got a C & D order and consequently stopped carrying them, but I didn't know if anyone else picked up the molds and ran with them.

I'd love to score some of them. I sent a message to the Doc a while back to see if he knew anything about them, but never heard anything back. I'm hoping the collective wisdom of this board can help me out.

    Thanks!!!!

Doc rcvd a Cease & Desist from Marvel & DC. I think he has a message on the entrance to his site saying he doesn't carry these anymore.

I think Doc got a C&D and quit carrying them.

Please excuse my ignorance but what is the history behind Flatt heads? I've seen them mentioned and seen the tutorial on the heads.

Call Doc Mego and leave a message... he may have some old Flatts he'd want to part with.

Doc Mego had a Small Inventory of A few of the Head sculpts Charllee Flatt used for some of his figures he made. See above list. The heads were sold By the Doc, until Doc got hit by cease & desist orders, then had to remove the DC & Marvel Super Hero items from his site.

Some customizers make thier heads "Flatt Like". Drill a hole in the neck, round out the bottom of the neck, put a pin in it, with a Stretch string . Tie the string to the pin in the torso area. It gives your head a more mobile look. Not only can your head look side to side, ...but up down, & all around with half cocked neck bends too.

                  ^ BK,

That's really interesting. I'd always wondered how you get your heads to move like that.

I assume you attach the head before painting it?

^ I do,... However if one is a messy painter, I would suggest they paint the head 1st.

Then how rare are Flatt figures? Like Dracula. Is that a common one?
