Plastic dip cleaning bodies and heads on Mego's ?

A mego dealer told me that I can clean my dirty Mego's with plastic dip.

So I tried on my 12 " spiderman Mego head. Spidy had a few deep dirt marks.

So I take the head off and dip into the plastic dip container with a pencil.

Let dry for 12 hours and removed the rubber mold and nothing. Still has the dirt marks ??

I saw a video on YOU TUBE explaining Mego Restoration and the guy

in the video used a wet tire spray before dipping into the plastic dip.

I'm assuming this process is only to make th head shiney rather then clean the dirt.

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

That's not for cleaning it's for de-greying. When a head goes zombie it's been deduced that it's a bacteria that causes it and the tire white/plasti-dip method seems to negate the affects of the bacteria. Not permanently but for a while. Limited sunlight seems to extend the life. To clean heads with deep dirt I use denture cleaner tablets first. Great for getting dirt out without any scrubbing that might scratch paint like on a Captain America or Falcon head where the skin is painted and fairly fragile. On other heads, a soft toothbrush with some soapy water can do wonders.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.
