Liv Dolls and Moxie Dolls for accessories and parts!!!

    Hey all,
I've been finding these doll types in my thrift store outings and noted (At first) how some of the footwear kinda works on male Mego feet. Later I experimented with swapping a pair of LIV doll hands onto a Mego male body. Wish I had pics for this. The hands have a more femine pose but are passable on the body. I'm hoping to find some more of these dolls to experiment with in the future. As far as the footwear for these dolls go. They seemed to stay away from the overly girly pink high heeled look and went for a more realistic design in the dolls footwear. Check 'em out and I hope it helps some of yunz!

    Update with pics

FInally aquired the previously mentioned dolls to show comparison.

In close up. You can better see that the hands and feet are slightly smaller. But this may be what some are looking for.

Also, on my hunts; I've found a newer version Bratz doll w/ more articulation. The arms look to be a good substitute for male arms especially if your going for a non heroic charactor. (Pre-Spiderman Peter Parker)

PS anyone else having troubles with the new text editor for posting? The cursor keeps locking up on me when I try to move it with the arrow keys.

      Hey
By any chance do you know if the hand on the first doll can pop into the wrist on the white CTVT female body. Or more specifically on a DM female body? I've never liked Mego's female hands and those might be better. Just don't want it so big it looks like a mini-me version of a Famous Covers figure. That might make a nice change for customs. The boil and pop methed should make removing each wrist pin fairly easy. Thanks.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I've never tried. Liv Dolls wrist pins are very narrow though. SO narrow that I.ve broke every one I tried to extract. It must have something to do with the plastic the forearms are made of. In my past attempts. I was cut the Liv hand away from the wrist pin. I notched a CTVT wrist pin ring and slid/popped the LIV hand onto it. The Liv hands are a softer rubbery substance. I think LIV hands on the end of a CTVT female would not look good. They'd probably look like clown hands. As the pics show. They are only slightly smaller than Mego Male hands.

looks like with a little dremel work the Bratz doll would make for a good skinny male body, too.

More update. So I took the LIV doll hands and inserted them on to a CTVT's crappy female body. (Its the only Mego-like Female I have.) I Mickey Moused the Wrist Pin with some scotch tape to make it wide enough to hold inside the forearm.

The Liv hands look a little big on a bare figure. But maybe with clothing, they might look more natural.

Anyway take a look and see what you think. Also I wanted to suggest the hands from a Monster High Doll. I currently dont have access to any right now. But the female Mon-Hi Dolls seem like a nicer replacement for Mego Femme hands.

Hello friend, I'm a real newbie to Mego action figures and believe this or not I've always always been an action figure guy but all of a sudden it just caught me by surprise, I've fallen in love with Mego's but the one item that remains elusive to me that I'm in desperate need of is a pair of fingerless hand gloves that fit Mego action figures, would you by any chance be able to steer me in the right direction here by perhaps providing me with information about that fingerless glove the Mego figure with the pirates T-Shirt is wearing? Thank you for your time
