I have been doing some restringing on these CTVT bodies for a friend, using the method shown by dr_cyclops, in this thread.
It's been a lot of fun, fixing these. All of the bodies shown have been done this way, except for the one on the far right with the white hands.

It had the oval opening at the top of the pelvis, as I mentioned (Some are round, some are oval).
So, I used my Dremel to round it out a little in the center of the opening.
After that, I was going to use the heavy elastic cord, but I decided to give the original rubber bands one more try.
With the bands twisted. the figure still had a problem, so I tried with the bands installed straight up and down, and I found that it was standing upright as well as the others,
so that's how I left it.

Glad the original bands worked for you. I prefer the split rings and cord myself.

I hope everyone knows, dr_cyclops takes no credit in the restringing process learned here: http://megomuseum.com/custom/ctvtfix.shtml

The purpose of this thread was to open the topic up for discussion. Provide illos. pics and ideas on variations.
BATMAN89, Thank you for your helpful and considerate contributions. You are at the heart of this thread.

        Thanks dr_cyclops!
I appreciate all the dedication, time, and effort you have put in to these tutorials!

Like I said, it was fun to restring these, and that's what Megos are all about. Fun!

I've made some major developments in restringing CTVT reMego female body. Want to try it a couple more times, before supplying photo ref.

Photo #02: The pieces. Arm hooks most often are the easiest to remove, but those hip pin rings are challenging.
Photo #03: The arm hook. Most can be removed with a simple turning to release. Some have come with the hook bent around the shoulder mount. In this event, you will be happy to have a second pair of needle-nose plyers handy.
Wow! Thank you very much for this tutorial! I'll definitely try this on mine. I really appreciate when people decide to share hard earned experience with others unselfishly... It just saves so much time us! Once again, thanks!

Excellent step by step,I was in the mood to restring and used the split rings I had in a supply box.I've got six more bodies coming in this week looks like they'll be getting this treatment as well.I think I try this for my BBP bodies as well.

                Update:
I'm about to dump these images from my Imageshack account. I highly suggest that everyone grab them while they can. I give everyone the right to use these images to promote the hobby of custom mego. I give the Mego Museum full permission to use these posts and images to promote the art of ReMego/repair/custom. I just don't know how much longer I'm gonna pay to support these images, when I can add them to my Facebook page at no cost.

^Glad you got them. There are so many different ways to approach restringing. So many ways, work so well.
