    Has anyone else tried this?

I can't believe how simple it was, and how stupid I was for not trying it in the first place.

Well, as we all know, there is a dearth of good footwear for the female figures, especially boots.

The Dinah pirate/rain boots are damned difficult to find in other colors besides black or blue.

No offense DocMego, but you are the ONLY one to have those boots reproduced, and ONLY in those colors.

I was dressing a Dinah I got off of ebay; she has a few flaws, but she is very pretty and needs something to WEAR!

So, I tried white tights, with an old homemade nurse's outfit that she came with (after I washed the dress!) but, she needed boots or shoes to complete the ensemble.

The shortie boots weren't the look I was going for, but the only other boots I had were the Hero Boots from Castaway Toys that I had bought sometime back, but never used.

I put them on, and they FIT! Okay, they are a smidge loose in the calves, but they stay one, and that's what counts.

However, it still wasn't the look I was going for.

So, I grabbed a Will Scarlett tunic, black tights and red hero boots, put them on the Dinah, and they WORK!

    They freaking WORK!

Okay, maybe the tunic isn't an exact match for the look I was hoping for, but it's a start.

I'm thinking a red bodice that reaches down to mid-thigh, with red short sleeves, and attached long black sleeves on the inside; kind of a layered look.

I also have a black cape with a red lining that I had a guy make for me, which will complete the look.

I just need to have the tunic made, seeing as I have no place to set up a machine and I am pants with hand sewing.

Oh, Theressa! I might have a commission for you!

    I'll send you a PM!

Oh, and what I was referring to was putting the Castaway boots on the girls. You just need tights to make them snug up against the foot and leg.

Just in case anyone was confused as to what the heck I was talking about.

I think I have Castaway red hero boots on my Supergirl until I find something else to put on her feet. There are also some cheapie boots you can find on eBay. I think the general consensus is that they were used for Maddie Mod or something else a little larger than Mego scale. I've seen them in multiple colors, but I seem to find yellow and green most commonly.

I didn't know that Maddie Mod boots would fit on the WGSH/Waltons/Uhura/Dinahs.

I just might pick up a few pairs.

I'm not entirely sure it was Maddie Mod, but I think it was something like that. They might even be thin Barbie or Skipper boots. I used a pair for my Mary Marvel custom and they're a perfect fit.

I'd love to see some pics ladies. I've been fumbling through the pink aisle for years and haven't found much.

My Android gives me fits sometimes too.

Got your PM, and the tunics can wait until you finish all your other obligations.

It can wait until after Labor Day.

I'll sketch a few ideas and send them to you in an email, okay?

I was at the flea market recently, and stopped at the doll stand. They mostly sell baby doll clothes and Barbies, but occasionally I find stuff in Mego scale there. They had more of the boots I was talking about, and I asked the lady at the table who they were made for. She thinks they were generic shoes for Skipper.

She also had these ballet slippers. The closures are tight on Mego gals wearing suits, but they fit pretty well without.

There was only one pair of these, just a little different from the other slippers.

                    Nice!

There aren't a lot of thrift stores in my area, unfortunately.

And the ones in Midtown Manhattan tend to gouge people pricewise.
