    Dying clothes for figures

Does anyone have any experience with dying fabrics used in custom works? My scenario - I have a MEGO SPIDERMAN SUIT that I am trying to dye solid black. Should it work? And if so, is there a specific formula I should try to get it to come out nice. So far, it's soaking in Tulip brand black dye and I guess I'll see what it looks like in the morning.

    Hmmmm....

You'll be able to get something close, but the pattern underneath will still be visible. For custoims, it's usually better to sew something from scratch and then dye it.

You can readily dye anything cotton. The Spidey suit is almost certain to be partially or wholly polyester so you're unlikely to get anything but dark red and blue.

There are also dyes available for synthetic fabrics that I have had really good luck with. You may wanto to give that a try. I got it at JoAnn's Fabrics.
