    Painting die cast Micronaut figures - powder coating?

    I want to take apart a die cast Micronaut figure and custom paint him. The original paints were very durable. What type of paint would be best to use? Anyone use powder coating for customs?

    Hmmmm....

    You can get good metal paints at the hardware store. I've used them for a few different figures.

      I recommend contacting theantiquetiger on these boards. He used to buy die-cast 1966 TV Batmobiles and re-paint them new colors, (I know-the horror!). Still he has a lot of experience in re-painting die cast toys I think.

        Thanks for the info. Has anyone ever tried power coating?

          Won't that be a little... thick?

          I love this stuff: Dupli-Color :: Metalcast

          Gives an anodised metal effect.

                I never used powder coating paint, just plain old aerosol paint for models. Some of the big time die-cast customizers use air brush kits.
