    Ideas on 'robotic tentacles'?

Let's say someone was working on a Doctor Octopus, in a certain 8 inch style. Any ideas on tentacles that can be attached to the body?

    Hmmmm....

I think there's a Doc Ock figure with usable arms, but barring that; hit the hardware store and look for metal cased wires.

there's the Hasbro 9 inch figure, Toybiz's 12 inch figure and several movie figures with usable tentacles.

There's also a pretty good 6-inch Ock figure with expanding, removeable tentacles.

They're the ones MegoWGSH used on his Doc for the '78 project.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

There's a drafting tool I don't use very often called a flexible french curve. You can find it in most art stores in blue or grey. It's a glorified piece of rubber with a wire inside to make it hold a shape as you draw around the edges. They come in a sort of square tube shape or an I-Beam girder shape tho. Not round like the real Doc Ock tentacles. Still if you buy a couple and cut them into segments you would have some neat posable tentacles.

^^ The i-beam shape would be great for Superman to wrap around Luthor, too.

I used the cord from a payphone to make these -- it was a booger to cut, but it worked. The ends are from the 7" doc ock figure

I stole the tentacles off one of these for mine. I think there's another 6" Doc Ock figure not pictured above that has some that will work as well.

Thanks for all the photos and ideas!
The Matrix Sentinal deserves further investigation as to scale with the 8 inch size.
Love the payphone cord. Sadly, I'm highly allergic to stealing anything but bad jokes and ideas.

Here you go. Take the wiring out, replace it with a stiff wire and viola - you have great looking tentacles. Cutting them will be the most difficult part.

eBay? too cool. Megospidey, I am trully sorry. I would like to say it was just a bad joke, but that would be a lie. the truth is, I didn't know this item was available to the public. I was going for humor in my statement, didn't realize at the time, how presumptuous it was.
