    Dr. Otto Octavius

This is basically a re-sizing of the Spiderman Classics Doc Ock. The head looks a little small on the body it came with, and I thought it would look pretty good on a Mego fat body. The neck plug was so long and went so far inside the original body that I had to cut it off. Instead of sculpting a Mego neck plug onto him, I bought some of those screws that have the little loops on one end - I can't think of what they're called, maybe "eyelet screws"? I restrung a repro fat body with elastic cording so I could get the joints just tight enough to stand correctly. The screw is in the bottom of the head and the elastic between the arms is threaded through the eyelet loop. I drilled holes in the body for the tentacles and left corresponding slits in the shirt. I did have to superglue them in place, so the costume is non-removeable. The belt is a thick yellow rubberband with pieces cut out to fit between the tentacles. I did attach elastic stirrups to the bottoms of the pant legs so they'd stay inside the repro boots. Other than that, all I did was shorten the shirt. He's just waiting for some yellow gloves and then he'll be complete. I haven't decided if I want to use the more fitted gloves(ala Fantastic Four) or the oven mitts. Right now I'm leaning toward the fitted ones, because the Marvel characters tended to get the nicer accessories.

That looks awesome! I like the use of accessories! I'd go with the fitted gloves as well. Seems like they would just work better with this figure instead of the oven mitts.

..or you can paint his hands yellow and make sleeve cuffs to mimic gloves. You've got a few options there.

        Nice job!

The arms look fantastic,I like the fitted gloves myself or cuffed sleeves and yellow hands. Not a big fan of oven mitts.

                That looks great Amy.
I would go with the fitted gloves, seems like the Marvel characters did indeed get the better ones

Pretty cool, I was wondering if the Origins heads would work as is for WGSH. So, what you doing with the Hasbro body?

I don't know yet. I'm deciding if it would work as a Darkseid or Mongul. Why do I get the feeling that someone wants it?
Most of the heads on those Hasbro figures seem a little on the small side, so I would imagine most of them would work on a Mego body, although I hate the way they did the neck plugs. It's like their trying to thwart the customizers who bought them on clearance just to use the heads! I'll probably pick some of the other characters up as their prices drop, just for the heads and accessories. The costumes are pretty easy to re-size, and that means less work, less money, and more customs for me!

^^^ I have a pal that's molding a lot of the Hasbro heads for use with 9 inch customs.
