I'd like some opinions, please...

I'd like to contribute to the community (and my custom shelf!) and one way I could do so is to make some costumes.
Are they too detailed?

I know they are more detailed than the original Mego, but would outfits like these look silly & out of place in a collection? With the super-detailed heads now available, I didn't want to just go all "comic book-4 colors basic" LOL. But at the same time I don't want hyper-realism as it might go against the Mego aesthetic.



So if you'd change them, what would you change?
If they're a lost cause, I can take it! I wanna know what people around here like in custom clothing.

If you want them to conform to the Mego aesthetic, lose the shading. Also allow for separate belts, boots, gloves, etc. whenever possible.

Mego was cheap, but they only made two figures with nothing but printed jammies.

I think they all Look Wonderful, as far as the Colors and accuratcy of the Chacters involved. The colors are bright, & represent each on to a Tee. I am sure that these would be great , as far as Sales go.

However, what would keep someone like me Buying these, other than the fact I know how to sew,.. & would rather go that option because of my many piles of fabric at me house that I constantly get yelled at for , Is the Fact that they look like Pajama's. I mean, there is no Depth to them. Think about it. Even if you are just going for a "Megoeque" custom, .. well Mego had Boots, they had gloves, they had Belts, they had Armor, & even sticker emblems. " Depth" is what they had. & Thats what makes the WGSH the Best Super Hero Line ever.

Thats just me. They all look Wonderful though, I love the character choices you provided,.. this is just one man's Opinion.

Well, not being very comic book savvy, I really don't know what characters these are supposed to be, but I think they're a good starting off point. Customizers can use their own boots and belts and capes to give them a unique look all their own. And I kinda like the pajama look, (except for on Tarzan), it looks very Mego Like.

I started to do that with the Luthor suit here:

I made the top one for people who can't make their own armored top and the bottom for those who'd like a go at it. I probably should've left the boots off the bottom one too. I can fix that!

BlackKnight-I'm pretty new to Mego customs so what you said helps! Allow for more belts, boots, emblems & gloves. I think Luthor could probably use Mego boots and gloves and a custom armor top. Tyr and Kalibak- no boots or gloves, maybe the belts? Hmmmm...

Hardygirl- They are: Lex Luthor- in green, Tyr- in yellow and black, and Kalibak in brown and yellow...if that helps

I tried it today. No go. Cracked when the fabric moved.
But seriously, share your idea! I'm all ears!
I do hope to work something out to get some examples made. What looks good on the screen might not look as good on a figure.

Some people prefer the Megolook while others strive for realism and perfection down to the smallest details.
Personally, I like your designs, but I prefer something a little less detailed. And I also prefer printed suits with a real emblem, belt, boots and gloves. But that's my own opinion of course. To be honest tho, I have used printed suits for customs.
But again, your designs look great. If you can do this I'm sure you'll be an asset to Reproheads

I'd loose the muscle definition on all of them, it reminds me of Ravishing Rick Rude's body suit. Other than that, they look cool so far.

I like your work. All 3 look real nice. I've always been a fan of Lex Luthor's battle suit on figures even though I disliked it when it made's it debut in the early 80s in ACTION COMICS. But it should have hard plastic gloves and boots like Mego's Iron Man.

I think they look great and that you should go with your own aesthetic. That is what creativity is all about. If you want to sell them, then there is a market to consider....
