Working in depth with 1/9 scale

How does one go about creating an item in true 1/9 scale? For example I want to make a football goal post in real 1/9 scale. In order to do this I would obtain the real measurements of a pro goal post and then what?

What is the formula for scaling an item to 1/9 scale?

    Divide by 9.

    A six foot man is 6*12=72 inches. 72/9 = 8 inches

This link will take you to a super useful scale converter. I use it often... just plug in your measurements, select a scale and, boom, done.
