Tasha Yar and Deanna Troi from Star Trek: TNG

    Hello, Everyone!

I started off 2008 with a couple of customs I've been meaning to get to for a long time.

First, Tasha Yar, a great character from Star Trek: The Next Generation. I took creative license with her uniform; I know she wore the "scoop neck" no collar first issue TNG uniform but I wanted all my TNG customs to match.

Second, Deanna Troi. I wanted to capture Troi's hair, as it's a big part of her. *laughs* She's had MANY hairstyles throughout the series (and then into the films, which featured her mainly with straight hair), but I like the bi-level ponytail look with the very kinked waves, sort of like a hybrid of the photos below:

Here they are in final form. I wanted to capture Tasha's bangs that always hang in her face. I'm not sure if you can see Troi's tendril curls near her face; she sort of has a Gene Simmons-like hairdo from certain angles. LOL!

Closeups of the face and that oh-so-important hair!

Finally, a view of how well the ladies fit in with all of my Trek customs to date.

Thanks to Mefiboschet for shrinking the heads for me.

    Those are both great!!!

I've always been in love with Marina Sirtis ever since she hugged and kissed me on the cheek at an LA convention way back in 1988...I'd just wished my bud had brought along a camera and taken a picture of that awesome moment, sigh.

Hve you made a T'Pol figure yet?

      ^ Thanks, Hector.

Lucky YOU! I've never met Marina but I've seen footage of her at Trek Cons and she's hilariously funny. The audience just loves her.

No T'Pol yet, but you never know! LOL! I have a few more Trek figures I'd like to do in the future.

          Those are pretty cool!
I don't think Troi should have any makeup above her eyes though.
          Besides that they're amazing customs!

              Really nice work !!!!!
I never would have thought Invisible Girl resembles Yar-- but there it is

              Troi is FANTASTIC !!!!!!
I always hated Troi's hair in season-1 (not counting the pilot).
I'm glad you didn't even consider THAT monstrosity

K, I love the hair styles. How did you do that? That must have been hard to do.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I really appreciate the feedback!

I'm a bit disappointed with how Troi's hair seems to photograph at different angles. "Live", she looks really good, but in some of the pix, you can't really see the height at the back of her head and you can't see the tendril curls too much. It actually looks better in the more distant group photo.

                        I always hated Troi's hair in season-1
I never would have thought Invisible Girl resembles Yar
I agree, T1K. That was the weird little "knob" on top of her head, right? LOL!

This isn't an Invisible Girl head, but now that you mention it....she would make a good candidate for Yar.

K, I love the hair styles. How did you do that? That must have been hard to do.
Thanks, jessica. YES! It was VERY difficult and time consuming. In a nutshell, it takes patience and lots of it. Troi's challenge was krimping the hair to my liking and styling it accordingly. Yar was actually equally hard, as I had to give her a mini hair cut and highlight her hair accordingly.

Each rooted hair figure has its own challenges. When I made Guinan, I had to make loads of teeny tiny braids. LOL!!! The figures certainly test me!

Hmmm...well, I think you captured Deanna's face well, but the hair...hmmm.
