    Planet of the Apes displays

Does anyone know a good starting point to find images to create backgrounds for Planet of the Apes displays?

I know our good founder MegoScott will be doing his Dida Displays pretty soon (February, isn't it?), and since he designed our great Mego Museum trading cards, maybe he can custom something for you.

If what you're after is a quick fix, scanning the background of the POTA colorforms board and enlarging it might work.

And yes, the great outdoors is a good option as well.

I use backdrops from the pet store. they make several varieties for use as backgrounds in aquariums and reptile tanks. I have a couple of jungle ones, a desert, and a mountain forest. These are dirt cheap, and available almost everywhere.

If you want to get really fancy, you can buy some of the plastic trees, rocks, etc., they make for dressing up tanks as well. They generally are kinda pricey, but really make your display come to life!

Outdoors is a natural. But I was looking more for something that can be displayed indoors. Like the insides of those Ape homes, offices, and courtroom.

Action Martin, I think that with some good screen shots as references and then knowing what material to make it out of and a lot of time, you can probably make them yourself.

I am thinking about creating a scene myself, but I am researching what materials to use (possibly hypertufa). The only thing is, where the heck would I keep it?

Those who look outside dream. Those who look within awake.

Originally I wanted to use styrofoam to make those cool looking buildings but sometimes paint and styrofoam don't get along. Maybe hardened Play Doh.

Dida Display: Animated POTA Display box - Mego Talk

This is one I worked up with my displayboxes (Hopefully coming in February) using animated backgrounds posted by Mike Rogers.

Here are some huge panorama backgrounds from the Ape cartoons. Be advised that clicking the link will download an 1MB+ image
