I would have to chose My "Year One:Batman". It's been My goal since I started Customizing...to make a Batman I'm finally happy with...and I'd say this one is it.
In the Southeast Pacific, lies the sunken city of R'Leyh. There lies C'thulhu waits to return to our world with the other Great Old Ones. A hideous creature of enormous size and alien power, it waits for it's time to return patiently. For it has all the time in the world while it waits for the stars.
Yeah, I know I am not as talented as some of you and I am not bragging because I don't believe I can hold a candle to most of you. I love making customs for my daughter. It actually started out for me years ago but she adapted her own collection and it pushed me to make customs. I owe major thanks to "The Doc" this year for all the parts and bodies. Without him, I don't think I'd be in this custom biz. He inspired me to make customs along with Brian Leitner. They are truly the Elvis and Beatles of the custom mego world.
We did so many this year. I guess it really falls under what my daughter likes the best because to me they are all the same. We usually tackle characters that are from Marvel or DC. We don't dabble in other companies.
This, according to some members is my prize. I made a few for some members. I must have made about ten of these this year. I was walking around with blue fur super glued to my fingers. I had to literally clip the stuff from my finger tips so that I could play guitar. It was a nightmare but I got a new method now that doesn't involve my fingers coming in contact with the fur until it dries....ugh!!!
Introducing...the Beast..
This team was requested by her believe it or not.
This whole X-men team was the prize for me to her this year.
Cool customs, everyone...but mine was a toss-up between two: Cornelius and Dr. Zaius. Cornelius because his picture came out so handsomely and the tiny details were difficult to incorporate on his sleeves in eel skin leather:
and
Dr. Zaius because the outfit was better than I expected. Also, this picture portrays a solid set of strong pectorals.
>where'd you get that jason from, or did you customize him yourself?
I got the head a while ago; I think Headhunter makes 'em. Put it on a CTVT monster bod, added an LJN SWAT suit. THe machette used to be a popsickle stick.
Hee hee.... Captain Action rules! Actually; there's a lot of good stuff here. Anyone thinking of making a custom should do so; and feel free to ask around for advice. Ten years ago I wanted someone to make Ginger for me; but never found anyone who did full figures. I DID find Brian Wiltshire and Scott Metzger, who showed me how to do it myself. (So in a way; all my weird customs are THEIR fault....)
