Do you like facial expressions on Action Figures?

I read that baby dolls and stuffed animals often have neutral expressions so young children can project the emotions onto the toy. I think the same concept applies here. It increases play possibilities (which is a good thing for a toy).

I can appreciate that on a soldier, babydoll or another fictional blank character but when a figure includes a live actor portrait I think capturing the personality is important.
Mego's Dr McCoy is a good sculpt. Its undenaiably him while not being distracting or specific to any single emotion.
Some of the new Megos have more of a " Hypnotised" look. ( Tom Baker, Jeff Bridges)

I dont think SUBTLE source accurate facial expressions would hurt the play or collector value of certain live action adult based lines.
I don't really have an opinion on animated characters.

I like expressions if it's character appropriate. A smirk on Guy Gardner, Kirk, or Han Solo is fine, but not on Superman, Spock, or Obi Wan. And I don't like the screaming thing either.

I agree also. I mean the screaming is good on a Hulk.
Snarl gritting teeth= Wolvereen, Batman and Punisher
Stern look= Thor, Green Lantern and DareDevil
Smirk= Robin, Kirk And Guy Gardner
Smile= Supes and Capt. America (The goody goody guys)
All Villians Should have that evil grin!!!
