I wanted to send some special "thank you's" out on this Thanksgiving Day.
There are of course many, many, many people in the Mego and Custom Mego world I am thankful for including the multitude of friends I have now because of this hobby and the Mego Museum and my faithful, loyal and patient (emphasis on patient) customers over the years.
But, today, I want to list specific individuals that have either inspired me, educated me, and at times, even pushed me to not only get into customizing Megos but to strive to make them better and better.
I am thankful for Matt Jaycox and Scott Metzger: if not for their customs and tutorials I would probably not be sitting in a room surrounded by hundreds of Mego versions of my favorite comic book and cartoon show super-hero characters. They were, are and have always been, my inspiration when it comes to custom Megos.
I am thankful for David Lee and Russ Pitman: for without their guidance, tutelage and patience I would never have been able to take my customs to the next level nor provide so many others with quality custom parts and pieces. They are, in some way, in every custom I make.
I am thankful for Ed Nagy and Paul Kuhr: Ed for sharing with me his vision/process for making custom printed suits and Paul for pushing us to take it to the next level in regards to designs, process and technology. The custom Mego world would be a lot less clothed if not for these two visionaries.
Lastly, and certainly not least, I am thankful for Mike Barrett: Mike is my "partner in crime" when it comes to my customs. My longest-lasting friend in the Mego community, we have only met once, but I consider Mike one of my closest and dearest friends. He is the Lennon to my McCartney.
Thank you for letting me express my feelings on this Thanksgiving Day. It is important to me that everybody knows just how thankful I am for these individuals.
Peace, Love and Megos,
Austin
