THe CTVT bodies don't seem like they will take dye at all, your best bet is a silver suit to go over it and paint the hands to match. Besides, I've never seen silver dye.

Mr Brian Leitner has a very nice Silver Surfer suit. Has the head as well.

I don't think Brian sells bodies. I would recommend a DrMego body. CTVT bodies are slightly shorter than classic Mego bodies and sometimes break easier.

If you're using a Zica body that should be fine. They seem more muscular to me. The material Brian uses stretches and it should fit OK. Email him and ask him his advice.

What about just painting the body silver?

Yeah, for something like silver, even IF the body took dye, paint would be closer to the desired effect. You'd have to take it apart and do each part separately.

If you spray paint the body I would recommend you go to Home Depot or Lowes and look for a product called Rust-oleum, Specialty Plastic Paint, Direct to Plastic Spray Paint. No primer needed. They recommend this for use on plastic outdoor chairs so it should be pretty permanent on a Mego body. I've used different colors on wobbly plastic salad bowls and despite the bowl being flexible the paint does not crack or peel off. Check if they have silver.

Go with the BodySuit. No matter what spray paint manufacturors promise. Plastics and spray paints dont mix. Especially on plastics that have moving parts. It makes it easier for thwe paint to loose bond when you move a leg or elbow. Or the paint can soften and bond back to itself. Causing limbs to stick. I have a basement of failed plastic vehicles projects to back this up!
