Wash it first, then wring it out. Have the dye in the pot hot, but not boiling. Stir it every so often and keep checking it. I have dyed many clothes, bodies, hands etc. There is a learning curve to it. Buy a few just in case.

I find there are a number of outfits from CTVT that don't seem to take to dye. There appears to be something on them that keeps the fabric from allowing the color to dye in. It's frustrating.

I'm sure Doc will be able to tell you exactly what his will do. I'm pretty sure his will dye cleanly, though the pockets are a pleather material. They may appear different but I think they will dye as well.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I don't know. His men's suit says it will dye, but mine didn't do very well. It wouldn't go darker than pastel.

Interesting as this weekend, I tried to bleach a piece of clothing from CTVT and even when left in 100% bleach, it didnt turn AT ALL

I have dyed two Bruce Wayne suits from CTTV and few MEGO Action Jackson pieces from Castaway.

Use some RIT Color Remover first.
This worked really well after dying a jumpsuit too dark. I Color Removed it the next day, and started over.
