    couple questions

    Hey guys,
    Couple questions regarding customizing.
    1. Do you use any kind of lacquer to seal the paint job on the head. If so, gloss or flat, or is it just preference?
    2. When you sculpt a head, what do you recommend propping the head up on so that your fingers aren't continually touching the sculpt?
    3. Can't remember what else I was going to ask...

    Thanks!

    1. Gloss looks too shiny on heads in my opinion.
    2. A pen or something will work.
    3. 42

Mine get played with, so I use a gloss spray. Gloss protects better than mat. I use Testors, and when the gloss coat dries I spray a layer of mat over it: it takes away a lot of the shine. Not all; the result usually looks like regulat toy plastic.

I have one of them little stands with the swivel arms ending in alligator clips.

I have a clamp that I attach to the neck post and hold the head that way when I paint.

I use gloss because it looks more toylike on the finish. I wasnt aware that it was a better protectorate but mine get played with also so . .

Also spray Gloss and Flat when used to together can crack, be careful. Just use one.

Not sure if they still make it but art stores used to carry a product called Krylon Crystal Clear. It might be good for sealing paint on resin heads.

I like Testor's Dulcote to seal paint, because I don't like shine on my customs.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

              Check out my customs!

                Ditto but in layers.
