    Hammer - Mego Style

    Hi
I have joined here with the purpose of seeking help and advice. I think some of you are aware of my 12" Hammer Figures. For those who are not please check out Distinctive Hand Made Ventriloquist Dummies and Horror Collectibles
The advice I need is I am considering releasing Mego scale versions of these figures. I am thinking of going the way of blisters on cards in sets of four with the card being similar to the Mad Monster series. so I was wondering if you guys had any advice, best bodies etc and potential market. I was thinking of limiting each figure to maybe 50. In most cases I would use different clothing if possible
Hope to get a good response
    Many thanks

Those are crazy cool. Personally I prefer boxes, that's what I got for my Hammer customs. Takes up less space
But if you're going to do cards make 'em all new and modern, forget about the Mad Monsters series. As far as bodies go, you can get awesome bodies from either Zica, Doc Mego or Castaway, all are great for customs. Whatever you do, don't get CTVT bodies.
The monsters have a decent following, so there definitely is a market, but it all depends on the price, especially in this crappy economic situation

I think Thomas pretty much nailed it in his response. But good luck on the project!

If you bring the style you use on the 1/6th figures to Mego scale, they will be a big hit. Cool customs all.

Thanks so far guys. So it seems price would be the biggest of the issues. Bearing in mind these are all going to be hand made and painted and as most of you guys know the cost of bodies etc could someone give me a rough idea of price that would be acceptable to the Mego community. I have an idea in mind, obviously cheaper than my twelve inch line but was wondering what some of you guys think
          Thanks Again

In that case you should be fine

My college art professor has a couple of your 12" figures, including one with a glow in the dark head that blew my mind. You do awesome work!

Well for those interested, things are in progress. I have decided to release the Hammer figures in sets of four. They will be carded with blisters. Hopefully the first two will see the light of day in December with two releases a month after that. I will post pics as soon as the first are ready. Each figure will be limited to 50.
Thanks again to all those who cave me advice

That's great news. Which are the first 4 figures if I may ask?
And will they only be available in sets of 4 or will you be able to buy them separately?

The first two will be Baron Victor and the creature from Curse of Frankenstein. I am hoping they will be laboratory versions to try and keep them different from my 12" line where possible. When I say sets of four I mean four to Series 1 etc and all will be available seperately. I am pretty excited about doing these as they are the ones that I would have liked as a kid.

I have just updated my website with a pic of the new Kolchak 12" figure. This too, I hope, will see Mego scale once the Janos Skorzeny is complete
