    Captain Malcolm "Captain Tightpants" Reynolds!

If anyone on here is familiar with Firefly or Serenity this should be an awesome thing to see, what's even better is he was made of mostly parts I had lying around! I love customs like that, all he needed was a gun and a head (thanks to CTVT who I won't be dealing with due to Steve being rather unpleasant to me yesterday) So anyways here's what the real guy looks like (for everyone who isn't familiar with the show)

Here's what he looked like before the head and gun,

and last but not least, here's the finished product!

rather proud of him I must say!

The outfit is absolutely awesome! I'm not sure about the head, though...It looks pretty similar to the actor, but the sideburns throw the look off. Still a wonderful job!

Pretty cool. The costume is dead on, where did you get that jacket?

Thanks, I thought so myself, but oh well. I'm proud of him anyways! Thanks so very much!

Love the show, love the character, love what you've done with the suit. The head isn't working for me though. Everything else is right on though.

Great work Lee! I think one of the problems everyone is having with the head is that the eyebrows are too high on the forehead. If you could somehow lower them, he would look more like the actor. Fantastic work on the suit though - you nailed it there!!

Great job Loved the show love your take on the figure I wants one in my collection. As for the head I like it.You could try to shave the side burns off but I think he looks pretty good.I was thinking of using an alan carter head for mine. But I may go your route as it looks great. Are you doing the other cast as well?

Yeah, but it was the best I could come up with a present time. What's really tough is they only made one figure of him and that really dosen't capture Nathan Fillion either IMO, I may have to bite the bullet and see if someone would have the sand to take up the task to sculpt a head, I can paint pretty good, but sculpting would be an absolute nightmare for me. Thanks for the constructive criticism Dave, any suggestions? I'm wide open to them!

Yeah, the eyebrows and the sideburns, but once again it's the best I could come up with at short notice, hopefully someone will be able to help me out here sometime in the future! Thanks for looking man!

Thanks abuch! I send the same comments back on your Chekov. Great work! I thought about shaving the sideburns off, but the rubber head I think is too thin(but whattya expect from CTVT?) on making the others, I may try my hand at Zoe, (Mal looks lonely without her) but see as I said before besides the head and gun this was all parts lying about in my repair box, cause I'm on the hunt for CHiPS belts, (I need 2 more) and I got a lot in the mail that particular day and this kid that lives across the street from me was locked out of his house, so I introduced him to Firefly and low and behold, I had all these spare parts lying around and, well.......... I don't have to explain anymore, anyone here knows the rest. But the rest of the crew is something I sure as heck would love to do! Specially River, I'm so in love with River.

From you sir, I take that as the best compliment I've gotten since I opened for Clutch and the crowd chanted my name!
T-bolt you are the man! Thanks so much, I also will take the time to say Block is as happy as a kid in a candy store over his Mr. Monster, now THAT was some awesome costuming! *winks*

Again everyone I send my deepest thanks for the comments, Mal woudn't have seen the light of day without this forum! That's a fact!

WOW fellas! Thanks! I really like him, I would like to have a better gun (I'm currently working on that) and if there is one out there a better head. But for the most part he is one snazzy custom!

He's finished. Special thanks to Austin (megowgsh) for helping me find the head. So glad he was up to the challenge. Now after almost 2 years, I present the finished version of the Captain a man can respect. Mal.............

I just want to thank everyone again for looking. Tell me what you think?

Stevo from Stevos Toys makes scale Firefly weapons and holsters if you ever want to make the rest of the gang. They are 1/6 scale, but if you ask nice, Stevo will make them Mego scaled too!
