Is there a way to purposely "zombify" a Mego head?

I remember seeing a thread where someone had performed some type of chemical dip on a Mego head and it had "zombified" the flesh-colored plastic: i.e. "Mego gray"ed it.

Can anyone help me out with this? I'd like to zombify a Thor head for a custom. Thanks!

The only way I know is the natural way... Keep it behind some plastic and let the sun do it's work, but only the lord knows how long that will take.

I've seen people use fabric dye to tan the flesh on a BBP figure, so it would stand to reason that a grey green dye would change the color of the head, but I don't know what the resulting color would be. Original Mego heads are kind of dark, so the tint might result in it being even darker. Maybe experiment on some wrecked heads and see what happens.

I saw a pic of a head that had been shrunk in acetone and it seemed greyed. I can't find it now.

Does the acetone shrinking process grey the heads?

          No it does not.

            Ah, phooey.

Still open to suggestions, though... .
