    Good Paint for Mego Plastic?

I'm getting ready to paint an AJ football helmet for a custom I'm finishing.

The plastic seems similar to Mego boot plastic. What paint has anyone used successfully for this? Does that Krylon molecular-bonding paint-for-plastic work for old Mego plastic? Or should I go the primer-it-and-spray-with reguar-spray-paint route? I thought I had a trashed pair of old Superman boots to test on, but I can't find them now, since I "organized" ny parts boxes .

    Thanks!

    Hmmmm....

NO paint is really good for this sort of plastic, but the Krylon stuff works okay; so long as it's not gonna get played with too much.

I use Tamiya brand acrylic hobby paint. I think it is made for RC cars and such, but i have found it works well and is durable on mego plastic.
If what you see is what you get and perception is reality, why can't you judge a book by it's cover??

        Krylon

Krylon also has a plastic primer.
You may have good luck with the plastic primer, and plastic paint together, but like Don said it depends on how much play it gets.

Yeah, that pain-on-mego-plastic proble is what's usually kept me buying repro parts cast in the right color.

I didn't know about the plastic primer -- thanks for the heads up. I'll have to pick up a can.

The helmet's going to be handled just long enough to put on the figure's head, and then go on the display shellf. So play wear shouldn't be an issue on this one.

          Thanks, guys!
