    Preventing chemical toy melt

    Here's my situation:

I'm still in the process of customizing the Battlestar Galactica Zac figure. The blaster that Bjack sent is really too long and to wide for the gun holster I have. A CAW Captain Action paralyzer ray gun will fit, (and looks like a ray gun), but it's rubbery and I don't want it to react to the plastic holster I have. Is there something I can't put on it when I paint it that will keep this from happening?

just make a holster that fits BJack's gun, its perfect. Use pleather or craft foam for it.

it is easy to make a holster. You can use the one you got from CTVT as pattern...just make it a little larger and the bottom of the holster should be open any way.

I don't know how to begin to do that and I really don't care to even try. I don't have time to order another holster. I really just wanted to know if there's a way to fix a Captain Action gun. Thanks.

a bit unorthodox, but it should work. Get a small thin brush you do not care about and just keep applying a few light coats of crazy glue to "seal" the gun. Now you should be able to paint over it with no problem and less worry about a chemical reaction
