    Your Customizing Work Area?

Customizers. Do you have a space dedicated to your craft. I sometimes feel that a good work environment adds to the final result of ones output (Customs). I mostly work in my bedroom. Sitting on my bed trying to get all the debris to hit a tall kitchen garbage can. (I really need to re-think my work space!)

Rerooting is done in the living room, usually with a movie playing or watching the hubby play video games. There's a "wardrobe" in my house - a room too small for a bedroom, with closets. I have my old desk in there that I use as a workbench.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

I have a small shop right off the bedroom. It is about 12x12.

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, I didn't plan it (my father did, and i bought the house from him), but I have the most awesome garage I've seen as far as hobbiest go. My "shop" is a room about 12' by 20' with a dedicated workbench on one side, and a counter with a sink (cold water only) on the other side. Unfortunatly, no air conditioner. I had a window unit, but it ended up in the house.

The "garage proper" as I like to call it, has 2 stalls for parking (but I have so many tools & junk stashed there I can only fit a pair of motorcycles), plus a work area about the size of a stall and a half.

I use the workbench in the shop for small detailed work (I have a rigged magnifier I can clamp to the bench) and another workbench in the garage proper for larger projects.

My father died after we bought the house and between 57 years of his stuff, and 45 years of my stuff, I think I have every tool know to man. Several grinders, saws of different types, several drills...The only reason I don't have a lathe is because I gave ot away.

When we bought our house the wife was adamant that with babies "No Pool" so instead we got a corner lot with 3 car garagage - 3rd garage was already finished out with A/C ... she got what she wanted and I got the garage...
Don't be sorry. How would you know? You've been watching MTV all your life.

Since I moved to this house I have been using my basement as my studio.

It looks like a Meth Lab. Bottles, tarps, hoses, tubes . . .

I try to cover the windows but I think that just adds to the problem.

I set up a folding table in the livingroom for painting and sculpting parts under 12" or so. I love having that basement but It is too dismal at times.

                Nice question. !

Compared to my shop, the work areas posted so far make mine look neat & tidy. I may have to revise the awesomeness factor of my shop, I really like Gman's,

I use a spare "bedroom", maybe 8 x 12,that serves as my computer/tv/storage/customizing room.Trashed and in total disorder is a good description of my "customizing" room.

I have a dedicated area that is currently useable but still under construction. Never big enough. I like lots of space.

You married? My wife wouldn't put up with that set up for one second.

I just got bumped from the kitchen island to the kitchen table and then out to the garage. I'm slowly sneaking stuff backinto the house. It's hotter than a sweatshop out there in the summer and too cold in the winter. I find little flakes of flesh one plastic all over the house.
