What paint thinner will remove primer?

I'm doing my first real custom. I sprayed on the primer, but it pooled up and gunked up the other side of the head. Can I use thinner and start over? I'm scared that thinner will damage the resin, and I'm afraid that if I try to chip off the excess resin with a knife that I'll also damage the resin. Any ideas anyone? Thanks-

You can soak it in Pine Sol. Doesn’t hurt the head at all. Use a toothbrush to get it out of the small areas.

        Hmmmm....

Most thinners will damage plastic. PineSol is good. I've heard of people using Easy Off oven cleaner, but you might want to be careful with that one. You can buy stuff specificly to strip paint from plastic (I use "Easy Lift Off" sometimes) but it's REAL: dangerous: use it outside with gloves.

Easy Off is great for getting paint off models with no damage.
