    sticky stuff on costume

So, I have all of these old Famous Covers Daredevil suits. Once you take the DD logo off, you're left with the sticky stuff. I'd love to use these suits for something. Anybody have any advice on getting sticky stuff off?

    1. Tried vinegar. Didn't work.
    2. Afraid to try Goo Gone, might stain.
    3. ?

    Thanks!

Have you tried an ice cube? That might freeze the goop and you can scrape it off with a fingernail or emery board.

Most of it is good and dry by this point, but I'll give it a whirl. Thanks!

Could you try dabbing a bit of acetone or non-acetone nail polish remover on a less visible spot as a test? I've also heard that lighter fluid can be used to remove sticky stuff. Maybe take one suit as a test piece and try different things. I'd be very careful on red - it seems to run/fade faster than others.

Its tough to get off and then you usually end up with some pulls or pilling. Be easier to sew up a new suit.

What about spraying SHOUT stain remover on it then dunking it in hot water? SHOUT's only big rule is don't let it dry on the fabric. Submerge in hot water right after spraying on to clothing.

I'm just being lazy, but I like to use the stuff I accumulate. I'll try some of your suggestions (or I'll figure an easy way to cover it up) thanks!

I just throw out most FC stuff. Its useless and seems to deteriorate pretty quick.

You could try some goop ..., fingers / water ... air dry.

If it was a paper sticker that left the goo. Take a papertowel and hold it against stain then take lighter fluid on a Q-tip and rub from inside goo should stick to paper towel. Haven't tried this with new stuff so I would try it on a damaged piece first.

Most of it is pretty useless (can't bring myself to throw it away) but some of the suits and whatnot can be re-used. I'm turning a corner as a customizer and I think I'm going to have to drop my lazy habits. (Oh, and learn to use a sewing machine!)

I hand sew, if I ever learned machine sewing, I think I'd have too many customs.
