    Knight's helmet head

So, I've been trying to make this guy in custom 9 inch format.

Can't find a helme/head that would work. Marx knights stuff is HUGE and doesn't even come close.

Does a Ctvt helmet fit the bill?

    thanks folks!

Can't you just sculpt that? Or does an actual helmet have to fit over a head?

I MAYBE could scupt it, but I don't have all the confidence in the world in my sculpting skills. Just not something that I've excelled at.

Sculpt it over a bald head, it'd be easy.

That'd be an easy one.... time consuming, but easy:

-get a resin cast of an appropriate sized head, file off the features, putty it up until you get the shape of the helmet without visor or mask. Carve slits for the eyes, let harden, file smooth. When you're happy with that, sculpt on the fin (or cut one from sheet plastic and glue it on,) and either sculpt the visor, or cut one from sheet plastic and bend it to fit. (Don't forget the grill for air.) When THAT'S dry, use a pinvice to drill holes where the bolts for the visor will go, cut the heads off some tiny nails/large pins, glue them in. Prime with black primer, drybrush silver (I'd recommend Testor's Model Madter acrylic) gloss varnish.... voiola!

If you were Ok with just a solid knight helmut and not a hollow shell. If you look at the thrift stores you might find mini armour suits in the Knick Knack section. I find them in all scales. My prob is The swords and shields that are part of the item are MIA or Broken.

I'm also looking for knight's helmet and armor in about 9"-10" scale. Mego is too small... Marx seems like it would be too big. But judging from the response here, I am not optimistic.

A guy on the One Sixth Warrior forum made his own armor by placing clay on top of his figure, and then sculpting with Apoxie the actual armor. The end product was spectacular and looked store bought. I thought that was a cool idea, and this can be done for whatever size you need.

It depends on how tight you want it to look. Judging by the cover image, it's a snug fit. So, it's a mash-up of Galahad and Launcelot helmets.

                    Galahad has the top crosses.

Launcelot has a close approximation of mouthguard

You're going to have to modify the eyes, depending on how far back you connect the mouthguard.

Keep in mind these are small helmets. CTVT heads do not fit in them easily, if at all, so you might need a lionrock WW2 solider head or something of smaller scale. I don't know how this is going to look in a 9" scale.
